CPU-Z

CPU-Z by CPUID is a great utility for querying all the information pertaining to the MLB, CPU and RAM in a computer. My favorite feature is how it lists all of the memory slots in your computer and how much RAM is installed in each slot. (Of course you Mac and Linux guys are saying "SO" but Windows doesn't provide this information in any built-in utility.) CPU-Z is definitely a tool all Windows Administrators should have in their box. Many times, I have had to shutdown and open a machine just to find out how many "sticks" of RAM made up the total installed. On top of that, if the chip distributor wasn't considerate enough to label the RAM with its size, I had to pull out all the RAM and replace them one by one (two by two if necessary) to determine their size. CPU-Z puts an end to that. It also comes with a few options for running on the command line or outputting the information to a file. If you are a Windows Admin, I suggest you check it out. If you know of similar tools, please share!
