I got married on September 30 at 5pm in Kansas City, MO at the Anita B. Gorman fountain. We have many pictures in our family photo gallery at http://joedevyn.com.
A life dream came true for me on September 30. I married the woman that I love in a beautiful outside ceremony. God showed his grace that day by giving me Devyn as my bride. When the ceremony was complete, the minister introduced us just as my new wife wanted; as Devyn and Joseph Davis. She didn't want to be called Mrs. Joseph Davis just yet. We stayed behind and took approximately 2,000,000 photos as the majority of our guests went to the reception to party. I can't wait to see the pictures that were taken by the photographer and Nelson. Nelson is a good friend of mine from San Diego who flew to KC the night before the wedding to see me get married. He is also a very talented photographer and website designer (http://www.nelsonabalosjr.com/). Anyway, enough about him.
Upon arriving at the reception we immediately cut the cake and lined everyone up for dinner. I think I got about 2 or 3 bites of mine before being whisked away for more photos. Devyn's sister and Maid of Honor Heather offered our first toast. Daniel, my Best Man offered his toast, then came Devyn's dad, Chris and my dad, Bob. By the end of all the toasts, I was doing pretty good. :-) I never realized how much I liked champagne. Our first dance was to "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts.
We had the traditional Father Daughter dances for both Devyn's Dad and Step-Dad, John. I danced with my mother, Liz to her favorite song of all time, Beautiful Dreamer. We then got ourselves completely worn out with the dollar dances but that is okay because we raked it in! Just think, neither one of us are very good dancers and we got paid for it.
We spent our honeymoon at The Elms in Excelsior Springs, Jefferson City and St. Louis.
